Experience an indulgent and diverse full day tour showcasing the very best sights and tastes from the Central Otago region. Let your experienced wine guide lead you on a tasting journey through three contrasting Central Otago wine sub-regions; Gibbston, Bannockburn and Cromwell.
Enjoy a guided tour through New Zealand’s largest underground wine cave and savour a unique lunch with 5 dishes cooked in retired oak barrels and perfectly matched with 5 wines.
You will also have an opportunity to retrace history with a visit to the historical settlements of Arrowtown, and Old Cromwell (when time permits). Learn about the early pioneering history and how the wine region was formed through an array of fun facts and interesting stories from your knowledgeable wine guide.
At the end of your tour you will be returned to your accommodation.

Itinerary

Lake Hayes is a beautiful lake located just 15 minutes drive from downtown Queenstown towards Arrowtown. The reflective lake offers panoramic, picturesque views of the surrounding mountains the entire walk.

Your tour begins at the iconic Gibbston Valley Winery wine cave, New Zealand’s largest wine cave. Step inside this unique underground setting and enjoy your first wine tasting of the day.

Your second stop takes you to another winery in the beautiful Bannockburn Wine Region, where you’ll visit either Carrick or Akarua. Here, you’ll enjoy your second wine tasting of the day and discover more of the exceptional wines that make Central Otago so special.

The Stoaker Room is a unique Central Otago dining experience, renowned for its innovative approach to food and wine. Enjoy an exquisite five-course lunch, with each dish expertly cooked in retired oak wine barrels and perfectly paired with complementary wines, showcasing the region’s exceptional flavours and local produce.

Make a quick stop to the historic Cromwell Heritage Precint, Situated on the shores of Lake Dunstan, this unique heritage attraction is a mix of original and reconstructed buildings from the old main street of the 1860’s gold town of Cromwell.

Your forth and final wine stop takes you to another winery in the beautiful Gibbston Wine Region, where you’ll visit Mt Rosa. Here, you’ll enjoy your forth wine tasting of the day and will be accompanied by a cheese board where you'll have a chance to endulge in the local flavours.
